For parents

  • How it works: your child taps the answer to each puzzle; you can read the questions aloud for younger children. There's a generous clock, but no rush.
  • How it's scored: the result compares your child with children of the same age (you choose the age before starting), on the familiar IQ-style scale where 100 is typical.
  • What it is - and isn't: a fun, encouraging snapshot of reasoning skills, not a clinical assessment. If you have questions about your child's learning or development, a teacher or an educational psychologist is the right person to ask.
  • Privacy: just a first name for the certificate - no email, no photos, and kids never appear in our rankings.

The Kids IQ Test is part of Brain Club: 14 days free, then $5.90/month, with every adult test, brain games and daily challenges for the grown-ups too.

Questions from parents

What age is the Kids IQ Test for?

Children aged 6 to 12, in two levels: ages 6 to 8 and ages 9 to 12. From 13, the adult tests are a better fit.

How is my child scored?

Your child's answers are compared with what is typical for children of the same age, and shown on the familiar IQ-style scale where 100 is typical for that age. The result highlights your child's strongest area.

Is it a real IQ test?

It uses the same kinds of puzzles as children's intelligence tests - patterns, sequences, analogies, logic and shapes - but it is a fun, encouraging snapshot, not a clinical or school assessment.

Can my child do it alone?

Children of 9 and up usually can. Younger children enjoy doing it with a parent who reads the questions aloud - just let them choose the answers.

What do you store about my child?

Only the first name you type for the certificate, the age group and the answers. No email, no photos, and children never appear in our public rankings.
